We have just developed a boom tent for the Shearwater. It allows you to camp on your canoe if there are no suitable campsites on shore. The tent is really a glorified tarp that stretches from the bow to stern and out to the end of the outrigger beam. The cockpit of the Shearwater is long enough and wide enough to sleep in. The boom makes the ridge which is held up by a boom crutch at the end of the cockpit. This gives clear headroom whilst sitting on the rear seat. Gavin is going to use it in the sheltered backwaters of the Solent, and will give us feedback as to how it performs.
